CIA Becomes Social Media Laughing Stock After Release of New Recruiting Video

The CIA has become the target of mockery after releasing a new recruitment video people label as "woke." Many on social media criticized the world's most prestigious intelligence agency for becoming a national embarrassment.

The recruitment video features a 36-year-old Latina agent who identifies as a "cisgender Millennial" who's been "diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder."

The woman says, "I am intersectional, but my existence is not a box-checking exercise. I am a walking declaration, a woman whose inflection does not rise at the end of her sentences, suggesting that a question has been asked."

She admits "I used to struggle with impostor syndrome," and then adds that she "refuse[s] to internalize misguided, patriarchal ideas of what a woman can or should be."

"I am tired of feeling like I am supposed to apologize for the space I occupy," she says.

The video concludes with her adding, "I am unapologetically me. I want you to be unapologetically you, whoever you are. Whether you work at CIA, or anywhere else in the world. Command your space. Mija, you are worth it."

The attacks on social media, especially on Twitter, ensued.
