Journalist Andy Ngo Flees U.S. Amid Antifa Death Threats

Conservative journalist and author Andy Ngo fled the United States amid receiving a bombardment of death threats from Antifa.

Ngo is best known for reporting on the far-left group’s demonstrations and riots. He dedicated the past few years to documenting the ins and outs of Antifa by attending gatherings and even infiltrating the group.

In 2019, while attending an Antifa “event” called the “Community Self-Defense Against Proud-Boy Attack” held in the group’s seemingly self-designated capital of Portland, Oregon, Ngo was pulled into a skirmish where he was beaten up and robbed by several of the far-leftists.

Earlier this month, Ngo announced the upcoming release of his highly anticipated book entitled Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy, which caused an uproar among the group. In one instance, the tumult came to steps of Powell’s Books in Portland which ended up forcing the retailer to cancel its plan of selling the book in-store. The store has since stuck to its guns in offering to sell the book via its online store, according to their “Commitment to Free Speech.”

Now residing in London, Ngo discussed his upcoming book in an interview with Sky News. In the interview, he explained the growing number of threats of violence made against him as well as “promises by Antifa extremists to kill” him.

Ngo also noted, "all those threats were reported to authorities, and even when I provided names of some of the suspects, nothing was done. So, it's pained me a lot to temporarily [have] to leave the country and home that settled my parents, who came there as political refugees."

Despite it seeming like Ngo would take every opportunity he has to destroy Antifa, he told the Washington Examiner in an interview from England that from his point of view at the events at the Capitol building on January 6th, Antifa militants were not among those rioting inside the building.

He told the Washington Examiner, "the people occupying the Capitol building do not look like Antifa people dressed in Trump gear or Trump costumes.”
