Tulsi Gabbard calls Adam Schiff and John Brennan 'Domestic Enemies' in Warning to Americans
In a video posted to her Twitter account on Tuesday, former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii issued a warning to fellow Americans, expressing her concern that “domestic enemies” in the national security community and Big Tech are plotting the creation of a “police state” in the U.S.
The video featured Gabbard, a civil liberties advocate, speaking out against the government’s push to ramp up and expand federal power over national security following the January 6th Capitol riot. She labeled Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and former CIA Director John Brennan as “domestic enemies” in trying to expand those federal powers and ultimately create a “police state.”
Gabbard said, "The mob who stormed the Capitol on January 6th to try to stop Congress from carrying out its constitutional responsibilities were behaving like domestic enemies of our country, but let's be clear, the John Brennans, Adam Schiffs and the oligarchs in Big Tech who are trying to undermine our constitutionally protected rights and turn our country into a police state with KGB-style surveillance are also domestic enemies…and much more powerful, and therefore dangerous, than the mob that stormed the Capitol."
The video includes a clip from an MSNBC interview with John Brennan in which he discusses the Capitol riots and said that associates of the Biden administration “are now moving in laser-like fashion to try to uncover as much as they can about what looks very similar to insurgency movements that we see overseas."
The media has been front and center in comparing the events at the Capitol to the terrorist attacks of 9/11 and have used the events to call for a “Domestic War on Terror.” They have also been keen on urging Congress to pass legislation similar to that of Schiff’s 2019 introduction of a “Federal Domestic Terrorism Crime” and a similar bill sponsored by Dick Durbin (D.-Ill.) that would create brand new offices in the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Justice to examine and prosecute domestic terrorists in America.
In calling on the Biden administration to protect civil liberties, Gabbard pleaded in a follow-up Tweet, "President Biden, I call upon you & all of Congress from both parties to denounce efforts by Brennan & others to take away our civil liberties endowed to us by our Creator & guaranteed in our Constitution. If you don’t stand up to them now, then our country will be in great peril.”
