VIDEO: Reporter Calls Out Press Sec. Over Biden admin. Claiming Credit for J&J Vaccine
New York Times reporter Michael Shear called out White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Wednesday over the Biden administration's crediting themselves for brokering a deal between Johnson & Johnson and Merck & Co. to rapidly produce a new coronavirus vaccine.
During his press conference on Tuesday, Biden touted the deal that could deliver a vaccine to every adult by the end of May. He said, "We are now on track to have enough vaccine supply for every adult in America by the end of May. When we came into office, the prior administration had contracted not nearly enough vaccine to cover adults in America"
The confrontation between Psaki and Shear on Wednesday shined a light on the fact that the deal between J&J and Merck had been in the works under the Trump administration.
